What Type Is The Right Indoor Grow Lighting Your Garden Need?

One of the most important things you need to consider if you have plants in your home is lighting. The right type of indoor grow lighting is needed in order for your plants to grow properly. If the settings aren't just right, the plants won't grow as they should.

To determine how much light they require, you need to think about how they would grow in their natural, outdoor environment. How much sunlight is needed for vegetables to grow outdoors? What about foliage plants? There are a variety of lighting sets to choose from, so if you need to make sure you order the right kind for your indoor garden or green house.

Some plants also need a bit of darkness, so you won't always need to keep the indoor lighting on. While plants can and do grow under continuous light, a period of darkness can still be beneficial. Obviously, the amount of light and darkness needed varies from plant to plant. Some need more light, some don't need very much light, and others need an equal amount of light and dark periods.

Since sunlight may not be available to you all the time, depending on where you live, indoor grow lighting will really be essential during winter months. If you have low-light plants, then fluorescent is a good choice. Fluorescent light is good for plants less than 8" tall. For taller plants, you need to consider hydrofarm high intensity light, as it can emit well over 100,000 lumens. Hydrofarm high intensity light is not only pretty powerful, it's also simple to set up and use.

Two other choices are halide and sodium. Sodiums emit light that is similar to that of an autumn sunset. The quality is primarily in the orange/yellow area of the light spectrum. They're especially useful in areas where some other light, such as halide, is already present. Sodiums are a great choice if you want to add additional light that isn't overly powerful to your plants.

Halide is extremely powerful indoor grow lighting. You can grow any plant indoors with halide - even in your basement during winter months! It's very easy to obtain halide. There are lighting fixtures available in all sizes for both commercial and residential applications. You can find some fixtures that are both vaporproof and vandalproof. This is a great option if you have enough room for a fairly large indoor green house.

Some indoor green houses and plant systems are already pre-wired and ready to go. All you have to do is plug the lighting fixtures into any standard outlet. The kits already include a variety of plants and the appropriate indoor grow lighting. Whether you want to grow vegetables, flowers, fruit, or any other type of plant, you will be able to do so with the right products and equipment.

The area above is known as the Soca Valley (pronounced 'socha') and is an area of outstanding unspoilt natural beauty. The Soca Valley takes its name from and is dominated by one of Europe's most stunning and beautiful rivers.

The Soca Valley is located along Slovenia's border with northeast Italy and includes the river Soca and all of its tributaries, from this source it then flows into and through the Nova Gorica flatlands.

The Soca river has a distinctive turquoise hue and flows for approximately 100km against a backdrop of high limestone mountains, covered with thick fairytale alpine forests, that are dotted with lush meadows peppered with an abundance of flora and fauna The valley runs across the high peaks of the stunning Julian Alps mountain range which separate it from the neighboring area of Bohinj.

A significant proportion of the Soca Valley is part of the protected Triglavski Narodni Park (Triglav National Park), the largest in Slovenia.

The two major towns in the upper valley are Kobarid and Bovec and both are becoming more popular with property buyers. Other towns seeking a lot of foreign buying are Tolmin, and Nova Gorica.

The Soca valley is great for fly-fishing and fishing for the indigenous marble trout is extremely popular, as are a variety of other sports including:

Hiking and kayaking, horse riding and trekking.

In the upper reaches of the Soca Valley the town of Bovec offers superb adventure sports and tourism is growing steadily here and also throughout the region.

Kobarid is the town where you can learn about the history of the Soca valley. The region is famous from the First World War where the Soca front was the location of one of the most vicious and bloody mountain conflicts ever fought. Ernest Hemingway wrote about the Soca valley in great detail in his well known book "A Farewell to Arms".

With its beauty, ease of access, variety of outdoor sports and convenient location to explore nearby regions and towns of Slovenia as well as other countries such as Italy tourist numbers are growing.

Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: system32ntoskrnl.exe

So I have a Sony Vaio PCG-VX89 laptop, and all of a sudden I've gotten this error.

I looked it up on the internet, and everyone says insert your Windows XP boot cd and reinstall Windows. Well that's great, except my laptop won't boot from the CD. It has a removable CD-ROM drive. I inserted my System Recovery CD that came with the laptop but it didn't work. I also made a new Boot CD and tried that, but it didn't work.

By the way, I went into BIOS and put CD-ROM at the top of the list. It didn't work. I thought maybe it could be that the drive was considered a Removable Device, so I tried putting that first, and it still didnt work.

How can I fix this? Thanks!

Well welcome to the club. This virus(or whatever it is) l believe is created by the anti virus guy's themselves at least that's how l got attacked. l thought l was protected but l wasn't. One wrong click and l couldn't get rid of it.One of them forcing me to buy their product. Well l didn't buy their product but l did have to buy a new hard drive. That's the only solution to our problems. l tryed everything you did. Linux installed but l gave up when l couldn't install the drivers for my printer. Anyway l was lucky l guess l had just bought it and didn't loose much. You'll have to do the research on what hdd and what not.

4 Easy Steps: Growing Tobacco From Seed

Have you ever grown tomatoes or flowers, starting with seeds? If you have, and had at least a little success, you can grow tobacco plants from seed. Even if you’ve never started any kind of plant from seeds, you’ll see here that it’s fairly simple, and a complete novice can learn how to do it with very easy instructions.

So let’s get started! Materials you will need: Tobacco seeds—check online, many reputable seed dealers offer tobacco seed, in a wide range of varieties; Starter trays and sterile starting mix; general purpose potting soil; 3 or 4 inch plastic flower pots OR cell trays. All these items should be available at your local garden center, or may be purchased online.

Growing tobacco plants from seed begins indoors. Even commercial tobacco growers start their plants in greenhouses or large sheds, or they purchase young plants from greenhouses that specialize in growing tobacco plants from seed.

No, you don’t need a greenhouse for the quantities you’ll be growing for your home tobacco garden. A card table set up in an out-of-the-way corner works great. If your basement is warm, that could suffice as a plant starter area. Look around your house for a spot that is not in the way of day-to-day activities. Short on space in your home? The top of the refrigerator makes a cozy nursery for your tiny seedlings.

Seeds should be started indoors about six weeks before the last expected frost for your planting zone. The ideal temperature for germination is about 75-80 degrees F.

1. Fill the starter trays with the starting mix. Tobacco seeds are extremely tiny—about the size of ground pepper, so be careful not to sow too thickly. Sprinkle seeds lightly on the surface of the seed mix, and then lightly water in. Do not cover the seeds with soil, as they require light and air to germinate. Keep soil moist; do not allow it to dry out. It is best to use a spray bottle and mist from above, or water from below.

2. Your tobacco plants will begin to germinate in 7-14 days. The exact time can vary, depending on the temperature and particular variety of tobacco. I repeat, it is important to keep the soil moist, but not soggy, at all times. If watering from above, take care not to wash out the seeds, or the tiny seedlings after they germinate. It’s best to use a mister to keep them damp at this time.

3. About three weeks from the time the plants germinate, they will be ready to transplant into pots or cell trays. If you wait until the largest leaf is near to the size of a dime, you may find they’re easier to handle during the transplanting process. Fill the pots or cells with general purpose potting soil. Make a small hole in the center of the soil, and insert the roots of the seedling, then backfill with a little more soil. After the plants are potted up, water in with a good fertilizer such as Miracle-Gro. If you are planning to go organic, try a seaweed/fish emulsion or weak manure tea. This initial fertilizing should be sufficient until it is time to transplant. If the plants start to appear yellow or stunted, another feeding may be needed. But if you do so, apply very sparingly, as roots can be easily burned while they are in trays or pots.

4. You can begin preparing the planting beds during this time. The plants will be ready to transplant to the garden in about another 4-5 weeks. If you are still experiencing cold weather, the plants should be hardened off for one to two weeks before transplanting outdoors. This allows the plants to adjust to outdoor conditions. (If weather is favorable, and plants seem strong and vigorous, this step can probably be skipped.) Plants should be spaced about two to three feet apart. If you have enough room, rows should be about 3 ½ -4 feet apart. Water the plants thoroughly as soon as they are planted. If there is no rain, they should be well watered in the evenings for the first 3-4 days, to give them a chance to get established.

As you can see, growing tobacco from seeds, is very simple. Basically as easy as starting tomatoes, most other vegetables, or even flowers from seed. You're on your way to growing your own cigarettes, cigars, pipe tobacco or chew. You'll save a ton of money--possibly thousands of dollars per year. There is another benefit to growing your own tobacco from seed: Your own pure, natural tobacco does not contain the additives, chemicals, and residues found in 'store bought' tobacco products. Many researchers believe these additives exponentially increase the health risks associated with smoking.

Kathy Jones is an avid gardener and a smoker. She is now growing cigarettes in the backyard, and looking forward to saving several thousand dollars next year. For more information and tips about starting and growing tobacco plants, please visit: http://www.squidoo.com/howtogrowtobacco">Home Growing Tobacco

Decorative Elements of Old World Style

Tuscany, a province in the northwest region of Italy is world-renowned for its Sangiovese grapes that produce Chianti Classico wine, one of the most popular vintages in the world. The region is also renowned for its natural beauty - rolling hillsides dotted with pencil thin cypress, deep green olive trees, grapes, tomatoes, eggplant, peppers and all the wonderful ingredients of traditional Tuscan cooking. The natural beauty of the region is only enhanced by its sunny stucco villas crowned with rich red-tile roofs. From Florence to Sienna, Pisa to Assisi, Tuscany equals quintessential Italian style. Capturing this romantic look has become a favorite decorative pastime of homeowners everywhere and there are certain decorative elements that should always be included to lend an air of authenticity if you wish to adopt Old-World style.

Embrace antiqued patinas

Terra-cotta roof tiles and sun-bleached stucco are the very definition of Tuscan style. Weathered woods and old wrought iron are other favored materials. While you may not be able to clad your home's exterior in stucco or terra-cotta roofing tiles, copy the look to your interiors with aged porcelain and ceramic tiles on floors and backsplashes. Tiled murals in the kitchen or bath are excellent ways to add a touch of Tuscany, as are distinctive pieces of wrought iron wall art or canvas art depicting the Tuscan countryside.
Aim for a relaxed, unpretentious ambience

Warm inviting tones should be used for walls, fabrics and furniture. Classic Tuscan choices include burgundy red, eggplant purple, deep brown, ochre and sunflower yellow and shades of green that range from olive to deep evergreen. Repeat these colors in rustic patterns in tapestries, pillows, fabrics and upholsteries.

Rustic wood furniture that proudly displays nicks and dings, exposed beams, unfinished stucco walls, aged shutters, aged copper pots and simple ceramic pottery and pitchers holding bunches of sunflowers are simple ways to add Tuscan style. Leave window unadorned or choose simple canvas or lace panels that add softness without intruding on the unpretentious ambiance. Color washing techniques can impart the look of stucco on the walls. Flooring is simple as well, with weathered planking or ceramic tile adding carefree style. Patterned area rugs with Tuscan or classic motifs add a layer of comfort in bedrooms and living areas.

In the kitchen, choose colored concrete, marble or granite for countertops. Open or free-standing armoires lend an antiquated look and lots of extra storage. A long wooden-table surround by rush-seat chairs offers a place for impromptu and everyday casual dining and accent with earthenware dishes and serving pieces in red, yellow, green and blue. Provide detailing with copper pots hung from racks, wine racks loaded with Italian reds and whites, glass jars full of pickled olives, dried pasta and olive oil, pitchers of fresh flowers and tiered platters and bowls of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Don't let your Tuscan style stop at the door. Graceful gardens, bubbling fountains, stone walkways and driveways, wrought iron gates, overflowing flower boxes and a vegetable patch full or ripe tomatoes and cheerful sunflowers will make your home authentically Tuscan both inside and out.
