"Is there any recipe substitutes for green chile peppers?
I have a recipe its a soup recipe, actually more like a stew if you ask me. It calls for only 1 green chile pepper and I dont have one, is there anything that would work for a substitute, maybe a spice or something? Thanks
you could use 1 tsp of any cayenne pepper

What's the difference between jalapenos and green chile peppers?
I have a recipe that calls for chopped green chile peppers. I have bought green chili peppers canned before. Buy am I suppose to buy them fresh and chop them up? I don't think I have ever seen them in the fresh vegetable section of the grocery store. Only jalapenos. Can I use them instead? What's the difference?
green chili are called Anaheim chili. They are longer and flat. You have to roast them and peal them. Then cut them up.
Don't waist your time..Just go get the canned pealed ones.
Don't use Jalapenos. They are totally different. It would be like using cabbage instead of lettuce. YUUUK!!!
If you can find them try and get Hatch Anaheim Chilies. They are the best. They are in season right now. You should be able to find them in the stores now.
