Dual Air Tube I need to order a new A/C condenser for a 2001 Chevy Venture, How do I know if I need w/ dual air or without?
I have heating and ac controls in the middle of the van for passengers in the rear. When I look online at replacement condensers the ones that can handle both dual and regular look much different than what I have. My condenser has the silver tube attached to it. I doubt Ill get any real answers here but maybe Ill get lucky. Thanks, Todd
"Dual Air" would mean that you have two evaporator coils. One in the front (hiding unter the dash or hood) and one in the back typically up in the ceiling with a drain tube that allows condensation drip out of the back of the vehicle on the ground. Two wet spots in the driveway on a hot humid day.
You don't have to get too technical, just look for the drain tube under the rear end.
Having "dual controls" can mean that you have piped in cool air from the front evaporator coil (all of the older model passenger vans were like this) or perhaps control the air flow from a rear mounted evaporator coil.
You can also run your VIN number by the local GM dealer and ask them. The part number will also ID the whole shebang.
Good Luck!

Now all they need is slided that go from all the other levels to all other levels…. yeah, that includes a slide going from the first floor to the forth with pressurized vacuum tubes instead of just a ambient air tube……..
