Burpee Snowbird Peas and Hydroponics?
We have a group project; we have to create a fully operating hydroponics system and harvest Snowbird Peas. They're a special dwarf kind, so I think they'll grow faster. What I want to know is any information on grow peas with hydroponics.
Second, what are methods of actually germinating the seeds hydroponically? Would wet paper towels work until the roots develop? Thanks.
a wet sponge works well too, some seeds prefer light others dark while sprouting so you should check for your peas.

Growing your own food is the easiest way to know what you are eating, but this is an option most of us cannot afford. Life in the city doesn’t allow people to grow plants as vegetables because of many factors, even though many would like to give it a shot.
Gardening has been an important occupation for people since the beginning of time. If some people didn’t embrace the task for gardening or farming, other people around the world wouldn’t have vegetables to put in their foods. The task of gardening usually implies a patch of land where you can conduct such activities, for personal consumption or commercial purposes.
Traditional plant growing is indeed something that should be left for the people who know what they are doing. Owning a growshop, especially a successful one, requires a certain set of skills that many people do not possess. Now I am not saying that you shouldn’t take up farming if you have an inclination for it, but rest assured that it is not as easy as putting seeds in the ground and harvesting.
For someone to get the most out of his or her growshop, no matter what they are growing there, the vegetables need to be watered properly, and this is something very difficult to do. You have to have the knowledge of how much water should be added, because if the plants are not watered enough, they won’t have nutrients and if they have too much water, they will not have access to oxygen.
This is one of the main reasons why a successful growshop cannot be run by anyone. However, instead of using the traditional methods to grow plants and vegetables, you could look at some alternative ways, easier to approach and with more rewards.
Hydroponics is a method that uses no soil for the growth of plants and vegetables. The water filled with all the necessary nutrients reaches the roots directly, without the soil acting as a reservoir. It eliminates the risk of over- or under-watering.
Hydroponics is a method that offers a lot more control over the things you put in. Water that is used to feed the plants with nutrients is recirculated and thus none of it is lost. In traditional plant growing, it is hard to estimate how much water goes into the actual plants or vegetables.
From a growshop point of view, the traditional method is highly dependent on soil, without which nothing can be achieved. Using the new hydroponics method, soil is no longer needed and therefore a growshop can be set-up just about anywhere.
In traditional plant growing you can encounter lots of problems, especially ones like diseases coming from the soil, lots of weeds that need to be taken care of, seasonal growing and others more. Hydroponics eliminates all of those things, creating better and healthier products.
When you think about all the disadvantages of traditional plant and vegetable growing, a better alternative is something that should be on your priority list. Hydroponics is that solution and more information regarding this subject can be found at hydroponics.eu.

Yes, there are 2 prisons close to me that grow their own food and tend to the feilds and livestock. I have also heard they train dogs too. I have watched the Discovery Channel and it showed them training the dogs for special needs people. It calms them down and they become very attatched sometimes. It was pretty neat.
