Both Hydroponics and Soil. And also for Vegetative and flowering stages.
A balanced ' 10-10-10 ' fertilizer is the best at all times of the growth cycle for tomatoes. There are different recommendations of fertilizers for tomatoes like 8-8-8 or 16-16-16 etc. But they are all balanced fertilizers. For hydroponics its the same ratio. Hi Christina, I don't use any pumps. In fact, I really hate using electricity or wasting resources of any kind, prefering to be minimalistic. But I do shake my container from time to time to dissolve oxygen. I also have a friend who kicks the bucket she uses to grow hydroponics tomatoes.
I top up the hydroponics solution only when I see that it's getting too low (when the roots aren't reaching the solution).
