Led Lights To Grow Plants

Artificially making bamboo flower with red LEDs?
I know that bamboo plants rarely flower at all and when they do (once every 50-120 years) they die soon after. I'm wondering if anyone has experimented with the newer LED grow lights and if you've gotten your bamboo to flower with them? Or if red light isn't even part of bamboo's flowering cycle.
Here is a method of forcing bamboos to flower used in Yunnan province.

can you grow plants of led tourches?
i only want to grow say one or two small plants
would this be possible under a few large LED tourches because i know you can do it under led grow lights just wondering if its any different.
thanks for all the help
Dan
no, led's don't have the propper spectrum. You need metal halide or high pressure sodium lights. They are cheaper if you buy them from an industrial lighting place rather than a grenhouse supply place.
