Just adopted a 1.5 yr old male pit/mastiff mix from the shelter...?

I already have an 8 month boxer female who is very wirey, and energetic. I had both dogs greet for the first time, and there was no hair raising, growling, or tail's standing straight up. The pit mix is so lovable, and very friendly, while my boxer is super excited, and keeps trying to jump all over him, and dominate him. He growled a couple of times, but did not bite her. She wont calm down!!! I kept them seperated last night, and this morning, I had them greet again, and she just gets overly excited. I know this only day 2, but will the novelity wear off?

Get them out of the house man! Walk the little darlings together. Let them play outside. Is the boxer spade? Boxers & Pits are bred for fighting (appauling sad fact of how nasty humans really are) but thats fact. If you keep them appart they will go through the same thing every time they get together. Buy nature the female will be top dod, The boys just don't give a damn. You how ever MUST be above her. You are the one to provide food, freefom, displine EVERYTHING. when they can and can't eat everyhting.
I have a resuce staffy/mastiff cross. She is now 6 months old and just going through another little "fledging" stage. She was 9 weeks old when I adopted her and I was her 4TH home, can you belive it. She is the sweetest most lovable dog but I have to stay one step ahead of her all the time. I also have an 8year old Beddlington cross. He Hated her at first but now they are fine. Bestest buds
The boxer may be a handfull but once she has him where she wants him she will calm down.
There is a guy known as the Dog Wisperer (look up on Google maybe?) He is amazing to watch. He has a pack of 38 dogs, mostly pits and they all know who rules the roost, and it ain't no dog honey!!
Best of luck

My 5 mth old Bull Mastiff growls, & snaps when you pet him when he is resting or sleeping. How do u correct it

He just wants to be left alone when he is sleeping or resting.

He is only five months - plenty young enough to easily correct. Don't pull your hand away if he growls or snaps - this only teaches him that doing that produces his desired result. That dog needs to know he rests on your terms NOT his. Who owns who here? You need to watch some cesar milan - join net flix and rent all of his seasons. You could probably rent them at blockbuster too.
