What happen to my aloe plants, why is it not growing?
My professor gave it to me in october of last year. They were babies and light green colors.
It's still the same size since then! I replanted in my yard last month to see if it grows a little at least.
Every time a new stem grows another one dies. It only grows 4 stems and then it starts getting black.
It's been raining for two weeks.
Aloe is a succulent plant and therefore does not require that much water you are better off digging this plant up and potting in a container and do not add any water brown or black leaves on an aloe means way too much water the leaves are going to get mushy so remove all mushy leaves to give your plant back more energy although aloe can be planted in a garden for the summer months it will not survive colder temperatures in the winter your best bet is get some miracle grow moisture control potting soil and re pot it place in a sunny window and only water when you stick your finger in the soil if it is dry to the touch, after this you will see a big difference in this plant for now treat it like a sick baby if left in the soaking wet ground it will eventually get root rotted good luck and remember do not use a pot much bigger than the plant as this will cause you to over water also make sure the pot has good drainage holes and never leave it in a saucer with standing water
