Hydroponics Build
Hydroponics or Aeroponics?
Ok i have been doing some research on hydroponics and aeroponics and cant decide which one I would rather go with. Im looking for one that needs the least amount of work done after the initial set up. I can order a system online or build my own (which ever is cheaper thats why im here!) I found a couple of systems that I like including this SH Hydroponics, Inc. > General Hydroponics AEROFLO²® 60 and this SH Hydroponics, Inc. > Ebb & Gro Ebb and Flow System. (if i got the ebb system i would also buy multiple add ons so i could grow more plants.
Basically my question is what is the most cost efficient way to grow 60-75 plants indoors? This is including lights and everything necessary from the beginning stages to harvest. I need to know which one i should go with...Thanks!
I am running a Do It Yourself Aeroponic System that uses NASA style technology. The system I made I share at my blog and I have a book to that shows how I made it. I have seen hydroponic systems and thought they would be too much work and take up too much room. All my ideas came from research and my cloning bucket I made that gives me 100% results. My aeroponic set up is larger than what you are wanting to do with 14 tubs that can hold 12 plants each.
As far as maintenance goes every two weeks I change my reservoir, clean the pump and tank. I check my ppm every day finding the plants use up about 20ppm a day and they drink the water too at maybe a gallon a day.
I hope this helps and I added up what it cost me for all my stuff including lights, around $550 is what I have spent and not all at once as the system is expandable.
