Why is my car leaking 1 quart of Radiator fluid a day????
I have a 96 SUV that has had its share of problems. Every week or so I have to refill the coolant beacuse it is almost bone dry... my garage floor is covered in coolant (yes I finally put a drip pan down). My car overheats repeatedly and I'm not sure if its related but a couple times a week when I shift into park the rpm's shoot up to 2.5 and it sounds like I'm flooring it. (also idles around 2) When that happens my car coasts like its still in gear, which I'm pretty sure it is. Do I need a new radiator? Temerapture gauge? What should I do?
Antifreeze can leak out of a number of places. I'd check your hoses and waterpump first. When the pump is going bad, coolant will start leaking out of a weep hole. A bad radiator can also instigate coolant loss... The only way to test your radiator is to have it pressure tested. If you let your engine overheat to many times, you'll end up blowing your head gaskets, or even worse, warp your heads.

How will an increase in the severity of El Ninos impact the insurance industry?
A recently published article depicted an increase in the intensity of El Nino events:

El Nino can influence the frequency of hurricanes, floods, and droughts. As El Ninos become stronger, will these extreme weather events also increase in severity?
Moreover, how would an increase in severe weather impact the insurance industry's profitability? Can individuals expect an increase in property insurance rates, due to intensifying weather patterns? Finally, has there been any notable trend in property losses over the last 10-20 years?
One more question –– I promise it's the last 
Has a trend been noted in government expenditures aiding victims of extreme weather?

Lots of points raised, I can’t go into too many details but here’s a general overview of ENSO and it’s relationship with global warming. together with a summary of effects on the insurance industry.
El Nino and Global Warming
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯
Atmospheric changes over the southern Pacific Ocean create a system that is known as ENSO (the El Nino Southern Oscillation). There are three phases to ENSO – the positive phase, the neutral phase and the negative phase. More about ENSO - http://www.esrl.noaa.gov/psd/enso/
The positive phase is what we experience as El Nino episodes and these are associated with warmer climatic conditions, the negative phase provides is with the cooler La Nina episodes; the inbetween phases are the neutral ones.
In recent years there has been a noticeable increase in the incidence of El Ninos, whilst at the same time there’s been a decrease in the La Nina’s. These ENSO episodes are happening more or less with the same frequency as they did historically, only nowadays it’s more likely to be the positive El Nino phase that we experience.
At present, we don’t know enough about the ENSO to say quite why this is, there is a fairly good correlation with average global temperatures so global warming may be a factor; it may be the sole factor or there could be other influences involved.
The strength of the ENSO is measured on a scale called the Oceanic Nino Index (ONI), it’s calculated as a three month rolling average of the sea surface temperature. More about ONI http://ggweather.com/enso/oni.htm

Using the same data, I produced another graph, this one shows how the effect has been somewhat seasonal. The latter 6 months of the year all relate to the strongest increases in the ONI, the odds of this being a statistical anomaly are less than 1 in 4,000, so it seems highly likely that there’s some external factor involved.
Further, the months that used to have the weakest ENSO are now the ones with the strongest signal, effectively all the months have switched round.
From the same graph you’ll notice how there was almost no monthly variation during the 1970’s and 1980’s but that there’s been a pronounced variation in recent years, just as there was at the start of the graph. Why this has happened is unknown, but the fact that a system that should have a significant degree of variability somehow managed to create a balanced state from one month to the next is very intriguing. Contrary to some beliefs, there is a correlation between the increase in ONI and the number of adverse weather events. I compared the values for the ONI with the number of Atlantic storms and plotted the linear trends, the two trend lines are as parallel as railway tracks. There’s something of a misconception that strong El Nino episodes lead to an increase in storm activity. As a general rule of thumb (it doesn’t always apply), storm numbers will decline both during, and shortly after periods of strong El Nino activity.
If you look at the last graph I linked to, and particularly the last 30 years, you can see that when the ONI has been high, the number of storms has often been low. Interestingly however, the correlation between La Nina events and storm activity is much less pronounced.
The correlation between ONI and storms isn’t perhaps as perfect as it may seem, the graph linked to above shows a linear trend, if we apply a polynomial trend then the correlation isn’t quite so obvious - as indicated in the next graph. Although the data used is identical, I’ve applied a different method of indicating the trend.

Effects on the Insurance Industry

I’m not aware that anyone has ever conducted a study into the effects specifically of El Nino episodes on the insurance industry. El Ninos appear to be increasing in line with global warming but, for now, it’s impossible to say what the exact relationship is; and as such, we can’t reliably distinguish between the effects of global warming and the effects of El Nino. For example, if there’s a flood how do we determine if it was a) caused by El Nino, b) caused by global warming c) a combination of both or d) caused by global warming having affected El Nino (and about 20 other lesser possibilities).
We know that climate changes causes more extreme weather events, that part is very clear. Here for example is a graph showing the increase in number of flood events in recent decades http://maps.grida.no/go/graphic/number-of-flood-events-by-continent-and-decade-since-1950 ). El Nino may be the primary contributor or the trigger mechanism for perhaps 1% of these events, or it could be as much as 10%.
It’s easier to distinguish between climate change events and extreme weather than it is between ENSO influenced events and extreme weather. As a result, insurance companies are able to quantify the cost of climate change and make future projections; this is something that most of them have already done.
The world’s two main reinsurers are Swiss Re and Munich Re, both their websites have sections devoted to the effects of climate change. Interestingly, Swiss Re have a section about how to respond to climate sceptics as well.

Swiss Re have calculated that climate change has doubled the number of claims that have been made as a consequence of extreme weather and the Association of British Insurers have warned that there could be a doubling of costs in the next 10 years.

It’s not easy to try to calculate the costs that changes in the ENSO have had on the insurance industry. Certainly there have been some costs but they may only amount to a few billion. The insurance industry recognises that climate change has doubled it’s payouts in respect of adverse weather events and is bracing itself for a possible doubling again in the next 10 years; an inevitable consequence of which is an increase in premiums.

How do you clean burned black drip pans for the stove? I don't want to keep putting foil on them?
Soak them in hot soapy water then take a Brillo pad to them. I wouldn't apply foil, this causes them to turn black...
BTW...they are fairly cheap to buy new ones, Wal-Mart even carries them or Home Depot.
