Cost of retrofitting a building with a commercial kitchen exhaust hood system?
We are beginning construction on a restaurant, and the HVAC exhaust hood quote seems high. As in, more than I made last year high. I would like an educated guess from others out there about how much this should cost us. Here are our mechanical specs for the system per our architect and engineer:
Hood must be 115" long x 51" wide x 24" high UL listed type 1 exhaust hood with rear supply, incandesent lights, fire suppression, and controlls for lights and fan.
A makeup duct must be routed from the first floor restaurant through a second floor space and to a rooftop fan. The exaust duct will also go through the roof to a separate rooftop fan. The exhaust duct is described in our plans as being 16/14 welded steel grease exhaust duct wrapped with flameshield insulation. We don't have an accurate length of ductwork, but it is at least 40 feet per duct (both floors have very high ceilings).
A mechanical gas shut-off valve must be interlocked with hood suppression system.
i do a lot of kitchen work exhaust refer. a/c etc. Kitchen exhaust is very expensive.all the ductwork needs to be welded water tight stainless steel. which can run upwards of 400 a linear foot installed. the hood itself can cost about 5000 plus install. equipment make up and exhaust can run about 5$/cfm and the halon fire suppression must be done by a certified fire company and is also pretty expensive. there must also be access doors to the ductwork for grease cleaning which can cost more on const. in other areas.insulation is about another 20$/lin.ft.

Anyone know of any specialty shops where I can purchase a RAM AIR hood for a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GPX?
I have a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GPX. It has the RAM AIR engine. I need to find a place to purchase a new hood. It's a rare hood. It's a fiberglass hood and it has the 2 air scoops built into the center of the hood. I've searched high and low with no luck. I've gone to numerous collision shops and much to my amazement they can't find the hood either. Any help, any ideas, any comments is greatly appreciated!

how can i get rid of flem cough?
this is so annoying and painful, i cant sleep at nite, i cant even call anyoe from the other room or else i start coughing, and it hurts to cough.
im trying to spit out the flem, but when i cough, it never comes out and my chest starts hurting!i dont wanna go to the doc for no reason cause i kinda have a weak immunity system , or what evr its called, i get fevers and colds VERY often
so any way that i can get rid of flem cough and how to make my immunity system stronger?
(it started as a cold and then i drank some coco cola, and then i started getting this cough{i know, i was a complete idiot to do that andi am regretting it.}

don't forget to use metholatum on your chest and under your nose..also have a humidifier going..that will help u get that junk up..i was also told by a doctor to boil water til the windows are wet with condensation if you don't have a humidifier.

Can someone explain white spots all over my bodies skin and start itching when I get active?
I have recently, over approx 4 month period, developed white spots all over my body. When I start running or walking they sometimes turn red and start itching, almost like a stinging itch. Can someone provide me with info regarding this issue? I'm kind of freaked out...

Is white the absence of color, and black a representation of all colors combined?
I have been having an argument with my buddy about this for some time now. We've checked out various sources, with tons of contrasting views. One of my key arguments is that when you mix all paint colors together you get black. He argues that white light must contain all colors because when shined through a prism, a rainbow appears. Help us settle this dispute.
A large part of our debate consists of me pointing out that he is talking about light, and that I am talking about strictly color. But then again there isn't color without light.

It depends if you are talking about paint pigment colors, or light colors.
It is confusing. There is mixed LIGHT to get new colors and mixed PIGMENTS to get new colors.
PAINT COLORS:
If you mix red and blue paint you get violet. If you mix blue and yellow you get green. If you mix red and yellow you get orange . You can't mix red, blue yellow, white or black form other combinations of paint colors.
PIGMENTS: Look at the ben day dots on a printed page or poster. You'll see red, blue and yellow dots. (Printers call them magenta, cyan and yellow.) With those colors of pigment you can mix all the colors, except for true white and black.
LIGHT COLORS:
In light white is the presence of all colors, while black is the absence of light.
In white light is the presence of all colors. like your friend says in a rainbow.
A red cape actually absorbs all the colors but red, and reflects red.
If you mix all the paints you can get a very, very dark grey or very, very dark brown that for all intents looks black, but you can't mix the actual, pure color black from other colors. You have to have black paint to get the color black. You can't mix white paint from other colors of pigment either.
If you mix all the colors of lights you get white light. Next time you are at a theater look at the stage lights. You'll see red, green and blue lights. By mixing those colors you can get all the other colors. If you can see the tiny dots of your CRT screen you wull see that they are Red, Blue and Green.
