Set Screen
Why does my tv set screen turn white when I turn if off?
This has been going on for years. The set will not shut off a lot of the time and I just get a white screen when I power it off.
The only way to turn it off then is to shut the power strip off that the set is pluged into.
This is on a CRT 27 inch set. Just wanted to know if the problem will get worse over time.
please mention the brand name of the unit.every brand has its own "serial" when it comes to malfunctions. basic trouble comes from the on/off swicth.when it is a push/pull sw.,it useally have an ac/dc sw. terminal. (",)

Configure Basic Wireless Settings on Linksys Router For CCNA
This article will show you how to perform basic wireless setup in order to enable wireless communication between your wireless computers located on your home/office network. This article is designed for CCNA students, network engineers, and anyone looking to do basic wireless setup on a Linksys router. This article falls under the CCNA syllabus's objective "Explain and select the appropriate administrative tasks required for a WLAN".
To start configuring wireless settings, you can open the Basic Wireless Settings screen, which is located under the Wireless tab. This screen allows you to set these parameters:
* Wireless network mode: allows you to select the wireless standards running on your home network.
* Wireless Network Name (SSID): allows you to enter a name for your wireless network. SSID or Service Set IDentifier is a string used to identify your wireless network. You can use it as a secret key in order to connect to your wireless network.
* Wireless Channel: allows you to select the appropriate channel for your wireless network. Wireless interfaces communicate with each other using radio frequency signals in the band between 2.4 GHz and 2.5 GHz.
* Wireless SSID Broadcast: allows the broadcasting of your SSID in order to help your network users find your wireless network easily. You can also disable this behavior whenever you want.
The following steps describe how to configure your Linksys router in order to enable wireless communication on your network:
Step 1: Open your favorite web browser application, and enter the IP address 192.168.1.1 in the address field. Then press Enter.
Step 2: In the authentication dialog box, enter the administrator's username and password. The default values are admin/admin for the username/password. However, on some Linksys router platforms, the default value for the username is the blank and for the password is admin.
Step 3: Open the Wireless tab.
Step 4: In the Wireless Network Mode drop-down menu, select Mixed if your have both 802.11g and 802.11n wireless devices. If not, then select either G-Only or N-Only depending on the wireless standard used on your network.
Step 5: Enter a name for your network. Your network users will use the SSID to recognize your wireless network whenever they survey the local area for wireless networks. The default value for this parameter is linksys.
Step 6: Select your wireless channel.
Step 7: Select Enable in order to broadcast your SSID or Disable if you want to disable this behavior.
Step 8: Click Save Settings in order to save your configuration.

Is the Nikon D5000 or the Nikon D90 right for me?
I have always been into photography, photo editing and graphic design. I've just recently decided to take my interest to the next level and buy a DSLR. My plan is to learn the camera I choose front and back; take digital art classes and attend workshops with professional photographers. I will start by taking photos for fun; of family and friends, vacations and holidays. My goal will be to eventually turn my fun hobby into a professional career. I'm interested in both the Nikon D5000 and the Nikon D90. I held both cameras at our local best buy. I really like the feel of the D5000; it's lighter and more compact. Where as the D90 has more features so it's a bit bulkier. I'm also a little worried that if I do choose the D5000 that I'll grow out of it too quickly. Price is not a matter. Tell me a little bit about each camera; good and bad. Help me decide which Nikon camera is right for me? Any other suggestions can also be helpful.
If price does not matter, you will thank yourself for going with the D90. You will DEFINITELY outgrow the 5000- it's designed to be a super-easy beginner Dslr. With that in mind, it lacks a few VERY key features that sets the D90 apart- for me, the real issue is the hard buttons. The D90 allows you to change pretty much every setting instantly with one button and the wheel, where on the D5000, you have to go into the menus- a REAL pain when you're shooting fast. Also, the D5000 lacks an internal focusing motor, which means that it can't autofocus with older lenses. It also cannot use its pop-up flash to control remote flashes, which you may or may not care about (but, at some point you might...). And, it does NOT have a Depth of Field preview button (DOF).
The D90 has two command dials versus one on the D5000, making for much easier control and access to settings. The only thing the 5000 has that I would prefer is the swiveling LCD, but I hardly use Live View anyway. The D90 is also better built and I believe the shutter has a higher shot rating, meaning it will last longer. And it has a top LCD display, something I find I use all the time. The 5000 lacks a top LCD.
Both cameras will produce very similar images, but of course you can take amazing shots with anything if you know how.
All in all, you never regret buying quality- I don't really have any negative comments about the D90; it's just a great, well-thought out tool. Every button sits exactly where I need it. As far as weight, you'll get used to it; I never notice it unless I'm shooting all day with my 70-200mm.

Very light line, positive pregnancy test?
So I have all of the symptoms. My boobs are sore, growing and tingly. I am dizzy and so sick. I take a test tonight and it is so faint. It was first response, I hear that is the best on the market. So I tell my husband any line means I'm pregnant. He was patronizing. So I get the first response digital. Again it is suppose to be very accurate. It said "no". Am I pregnant? Anyone ever been though this or knowledgeable on this I would really appreciate your help. I know I'm impatient but I can't help it.
That line showed up within 30 seconds maybe a minute. I was standing next to it. So there isn't another reason it would be there.
Digital tests aren't as sensitive as regular ones. Also if you are early on pregnant, first morning urine (or after you have slept for some time) is best as it has more hormone in it, which may explain the faint line and then the no on the digital. How do colors work, considering the full light spectrum?
I know blue objects reflect the "blue" frequencies of the visible spectrum, red reflect red, black reflects none, white reflects all. But how does infrared, ultraviolet, and the other ranges tie in?
For example, is is possible to have two pigments that are visibly identicle but one reflects more infrared than the other or at a slightly different frequency? If that happens and we studied the effect, then it would have some useful applications.
Yes it is possible and in fact is pretty much always true. Every element has its own spectrum (way of reflecting different frequencies of light) and when we measure that spectrum we can identify what element it is. This is how we know what distance stars are made of or what is in the atmosphere of distant planets.
