Ufo Killer
Ufo Killer

Was anyone else disappointed with GTA 4?
I don't have an Xbox 360 or PS3 so I just beat the game on my PC and I have to say, I was very unimpressed. Now that I beat the story missions there's really nothing to do other than do the random missions to get 100% completion. I really enjoyed GTA:SA more, I'm not a huge fan of the "gangster" oriented games but there was so much more to do once the story was complete. I had a lot of fun with the myths circulating on the internet (UFO's, The Epsilon Cult, Bigfoot, The Killer etc.)
You could also wage war on enemy gangs, but with GTA 4 if you cap anyone other than mission NPC's you now have to deal with the entire police force. Heck, even if you scratch a police car you have to deal with the entire LCPD. The more realistic driving was cool but it's very limited compared to actual driving. A toyota pickup could take a turn better than a Turismo.
The developers just recreated the whole thing and took it in a new direction. I personally love it. But some GTA fans are dissapointed, and I understand them, being a fan of the series as well.
Lets take a look at all the past Grand Theft Autos: they were all having an intentional cartoonish look, the characters were so obviously based on movie legends, like Tommy Vercetty-s resemblance with Tony Montana,in a way, and others.
In the past they used big stars as voice actors, like Ray Liotta,Sam L. Jackson,Xzibit,Burt Reynolds and many others. This really added to the fun on quirckyness of the satiric story.
Obviously, now they took most of those aspects out,and focused on recreating the real world enviorment and society,in a little bit more serious tone. Allthough the satire is still there,if you pay attention.
I personally think that now Rockstar finally reached a new level of graphycal authencity,so they tried to focus on a little more realism.
.....but I do miss the hillarious dialogue..."I did your wife, you poor bastard!"-when the cops chasing Tommy Vercetty...lol
