A kilowatt hour means 1000 watts of electricity are being used continously for 1 hr. The electric utility company in the town charges $0.03715 for each kilowatt hour used. Laura heats her house with 3 electric wall heaters that use 1200 watts per hour each.
1200W*3heaters.= 3600W
3600W/1000= 3.6Kw
3.6Kw/hr * .03715$/hr= .13374$ a day

Why are my gfci receptacles tripping when I plug in my utility light?
I have an identical light that works fine. The other light trips any 1 of the 3 gfci's in my garage. I exchanged the light thinking it was the cause, but having the same problem with the new light. I noticed that if i bypass the ground plug on the problem light it works fine. Everything thing else i've plugged into the outlets worked fine. Even my 500 watt shop light.
either rewire the utility light properly or get a new one.
